Day 1: Cape Town, South Africa

Today you will depart from Cape Town at 08:00am after a tour briefing. Your first stop is at the African Penguin colony en route to Cape Point Nature Reserve. You will spend the rest of the day relaxing on Hout Bay beach, before sampling some of Cape Town cuisine at a local restaurant in the popular Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Your accommodation for the evening is at Lion's Head Lodge in Cape Town.

Day 2: Cedarberg, South Africa

Today your Namibia adventure tour journeys to the Cedarberg, a massive rocky wilderness where giant sandstone boulders have been sculpted by the wind and rain to form incredible, artistic shapes. You spend the afternoon exploring the rugged landscape on foot, before leaving for your camping accommodation for the night. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 3: Gariep River (Orange River), South Africa/Namibia

Today you make your way into the more arid regions and enter Namibia, where your Namibia desert tour will enjoy camping beside the Gariep River. You have time to swim and relax, or you have the option of canoeing down the Gariep River. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 4: Fish River Canyon, Namibia

Today you travel to the magnificent Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world, but reputed to be the most spectacular. Ask dusk falls across the canyon, be enthralled by the breathtaking sight of the setting sun. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Days 5 - 6: Namib Desert, Namibia

Your Namibia desert tour continues today as you head to the red sand dunes of Sossusvlei, the gateway to the imposing Namib Desert. Walk to Sossusvlei, explore Sesriem Canyon, and enjoy the dramatic sunset over the world's highest sand dunes - definitely an experience to be remembered. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Days 7 - 8: Swakopmund, Namibia

Today you travel to the popular resort town of Swakopmund, where you will spend the day exploring the town, quad biking and dune boarding (optional). Dinner will be enjoyed at a local restaurant, and you will stay in a lovely guest house for the evening. Breakfast is included on both days, and lunch is included on one day.

Day 9: Spitzkop, Namibia

Today your Namibia desert tour moves north along the arid coast to the Cape Cross seal colony. Spend some time here before heading inland to set up camp under the Spitzkoppe, massive granite domes rising from the desert. Here you will enjoy a fantastic sunset before going about your evening activities. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 10: Ugab Wilderness, Namibia

Your Namibia adventure tour continues today with a visit to the Brandberg, your base camp for the night. You will camp right next to the dry Ugab River, home to the rare desert Elephant. You explore the mountains on foot, accompanied by local guides who leads you through this amazing region adorned with stunning rock art. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Days 11 - 12: Etosha National Park, Namibia

The Etosha National Park is Namibia's premier nature park and your base for the next 2 nights. This game rich region of Namibia offers a wealth of wildlife. Guests will enjoy game drives around the huge dry pan in search of Elephant, herds of antelope and Lion around the waterhole before setting up camp at Okaukuejo. Please note that subject to animal movements, the tour may camp at any of the 3 campsites within the Park. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Day 13: Windhoek, Namibia

The charming city of Windhoek is your next destination, where a harmonious blend of African and European cultures and influences creates an interesting and unique experience. Your meal for the evening will be at a local restaurant on your own account, before retiring to your guest house accommodation for the night. Breakfast and lunch is included.

Day 14: Windhoek, Namibia

You enjoy a delicious breakfast at the guest house before ending your Namibia adventure tour. Breakfast is included.

    On foot:
    There are many easy to moderate walks throughout the tour, in the Cedarberg region, the Gariep River, Sossusvlei, Spitzkoppe and Brandberg. These walking excursions are between a half an hour and 4 hours long.

    Vehicle:
    For the longer distance travel, there are custom built safari trucks with 12 forward facing seats, ideal for game viewing in comfort and safety. The large sliding windows and viewing hatches give everyone a good view of their surroundings. A Toyota Hiace minibus is also used with 10 forward facing seats. There are quiet a few long days of driving, but vehicles are comfortable and the cruising speed is adequate.

    Participation:

    An important part of your safari is the participation, from putting up your own tent or packing away in the morning, to preparing meals and cleaning up afterwards. Your tour leaders will do all the meal preparation, but they will ask clients to help with the washing up.

    Difficulty:

    Anyone who is generally active and in good health should enjoy this trip. For the outdoor lovers, the camping and basic wild camps should appeal to you. There are some long days of driving, but there is also plenty of outdoor activity and relaxing time. Please note that due to local conditions, border crossings, road detours and weather, the trip may alter its route/schedule.
