Sossusvlei's rich ochre sea of rippling sand dunes is one of the most wondrous sights in the world. The feminine curves rise tantalisingly to 305 metres (1,000 feet). The colours change throughout the day from burnt orange through red to deepest mauve.
Welwitschia
This is the Welwitschia Mirabilis, a unique prehistoric plant found in the Namib Desert. Welwitschia can live very long, some estimated to be 1500 Years old.
