What to expect from this 13 day Desert & Sea tour:
Your journey begins at Africa’s southern gateway. Gaze at the spectacle that greeted the early explorers, as Table Mountain appears to rise from the sea. A stunning setting for a very special city.
Explore the ghostly deserts of Namibia, nothing but endless horizons and vast expanses of night stars. Go where giant sand dunes merge with the Atlantic Ocean. Go on safari in Etosha, “the place of dry water”, where the fireside tales will be of Lion, Rhino, Elephant and much more.

Day 1: Cape Town, South AfricaSample the sights and sounds of this magical city at the southern end of the African continent. Accommodation is provided in a central city location at a local travelers’ Lodge. A host of optional activities are available including, trips to Robben Island, Peninsular tours, wine tasting, and much more. Please ask WildLife Adventures for assistance in booking these excursions. All meals at your own expense. Overnight at a lodge. Day 2: Lamberts Bay, South AfricaYou depart Cape Town at approximately 9:30am to Lamberts Bay, where you camp for the night. This is your first night’s camping and your guides will give you a full demonstration on how to set up your tents. Normally during or after your evening meal, your guides will talk about the following days activities, what to expect and let everyone know the time for breakfast for the following morning.
Where meals are specified in this dossier, they are included and will be prepared by your guides with some assistance from you. Optional activities available include: walks along the river, canoe trips, sundowner cruises, or just relax at the bar right on the river. Breakfast and lunch. Dinner at your own expense. Camping (Lamberts Bay Caravan Park). Day 3: Gariep (formerly Orange) River, South Africa
You head to the Gariep River and your camp (Fiddlers Creek) on the banks of the river. This rustic reed river camp is situated on the South African side of the river. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Camping (Fiddlers Creek) On banks of the Gariep River, South African side.
Day 4: The Fish River Canyon, NamibiaYour first border crossing is into Namibia as you head for the awesome Fish River Canyon. Your guides will assist with all border formalities. You camp at Hobas camp, which is run by the National Parks of Namibia.
There is a small shop, which only stocks basics and a swimming pool for relaxation. There will be ample time to take in a beautiful sunset over the canyon, or partake in an optional walk. Overnight camping. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. |
