Days 2 & 3: Sesriem / Sossusvlei - Namib DesertYour journey takes you through the Namib Desert, a great wilderness, a vast, solitary place, harsh and primeval, the oldest desert on earth. The gigantic 275m high red and grey dunes are the highest in the world.The Namib Desert is extraordinary with over 200 species of Beetles, Scorpions, Spiders, Gecko, Chameleons, Crickets, Wasps, Lizards, Moles, Side-winder snakes, snake-eating Eagles and Jackals. Most of the creatures and plants depend on the mist from the Atlantic Ocean for survival.
You enjoy a sunset walk in the dunes surrounding our camp. The following morning is an early departure for Sossusvlei, stopping in the dune belt to witness the changing colours of the world’s highest sand dunes. You undertake a 5km walk to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. In the afternoon you enjoy a short hike through the Sesriem Canyon. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. |
